From Satori Jujitsu to GB Athlete – The Journey of Sebastian Panek

ree

At Satori Jujitsu, we are building something special. Our athletes train side by side, pushing each other, supporting each other, and proving that with the right mindset and hard work, incredible things can happen. This year, four of our team will step onto the European stage representing Wales Jujitsu and Great Britain Jujitsu—a huge milestone for our academy and our community.

One of those athletes is Sebastian Panek, who will compete in the U21 -94kg category at the European Championships this October. Facing off against nine of Europe’s toughest young athletes, Seb will step onto the mats in a division stacked with power, talent, and ambition.

Seb is a very proud Polish man who carries his heritage with honour. But he is equally proud of the journey he has made here in Wales, the country he now calls home. When Seb represents Great Britain, he does so with a unique pride—bringing together his Polish roots, his love for his Welsh home, and the commitment he feels to the GB flag.

His journey is built on grit, determination, and a relentless willingness to learn. He’s not just an athlete—he’s a true student of Jujitsu, absorbing lessons, applying them, and constantly searching for ways to improve himself and help others around him do the same.

What makes Seb stand out even more is what he gives back. Beyond his own training, he is a volunteer coach at Satori Jujitsu, going above and beyond because of his love for the art. His time, his effort, and his dedication inspire younger athletes in the dojo every week. Seb doesn’t just talk about hard work and commitment—he lives it.

The European Championships will be his next big challenge, and whether it ends in victory or lessons learned, the experience will carry him forward on his path as both an athlete and a coach.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Peter Lynn and Partners for their generous donation towards our journey. Their support has helped make it possible for our athletes to travel to Belgium and represent their club, country, and Great Britain on the European stage.

Seb—we are proud of you, your journey, and everything you give back to this club. You’ve earned this shot, and we’ll be behind you every step of the way.

From Satori Jujitsu Member, to Welsh Jits Sgwad, to GB Athlete—your journey continues, and this is only the beginning.
