At Satori Jujitsu, we are building something special. Our athletes train side by side, pushing each other, supporting each other, and proving that with the right mindset and hard work, incredible things can happen. This year, four of our team will step onto the European stage representing Wales Jujitsu and Great Britain Jujitsu—a huge milestone for our academy and our community.
One of those athletes is Michael Aubin, a man whose loyalty and commitment to our club can never be questioned. Mike has stood strong throughout his time at Satori, remaining true to what he believes and never swaying from his path. His love for Jujitsu runs deep, and for this, I am eternally grateful.
Mike competes in the Masters 1 category, where he’ll face some of Europe’s finest competitors—all chasing the coveted European title. But if there’s one thing we know about Mike, it’s that he throws himself fully into everything he does, and Jujitsu is no exception. His energy, positivity, and presence bring joy to the club in a way everyone feels.
His passion for the art shines through not only in his training but in the fun he brings to the mats. With a wardrobe of Gis to suit every mood—including his iconic pink Gi, proudly worn even when popping into Tesco on the way home—Mike embraces Jujitsu with spirit and personality. He is always exploring new techniques, eager to share them with younger students, showing the next generation that learning never stops.
Over his time at Satori, Mike has competed at the highest level, often taking on multiple matches in a single competition. It has been my honour to coach and corner him throughout those battles, watching him give everything he has each and every time.
This October, Mike will step up in Belgium to compete in both the Fighting Jujitsu and Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) categories—a true test of endurance, skill, and determination.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Peter Lynn and Partners for their generous donation towards our journey. Their support has helped make it possible for our athletes to travel to Belgium and represent their club, country, and Great Britain on the European stage.
Mike—we are proud of you, your journey, and the laughter and strength you bring to this team. You’ve earned this opportunity, and with you there, we know the week will be filled with smiles, memories, and world-class Jujitsu.
From Satori Jujitsu Member, to Welsh Jits Sgwad, to GB Athlete—this is another chapter in your story, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve.
